It's not Ground so even though It can learn earthquake it probably won't OKO Xukitree, plus theres Guzzlord who just destroys this fucker, and the same with Nihilego who can just use stone edge and fuck him up even more

You forget how much Attack this guy has with thick club and this mon is really physically bulky it can survive one stone edge and then OHKO Nihilego with either earthquake or Bonemerang. Also Xurkitree is not exactly the bulkiest motherfucker.

Also you might mean Power Gem on Nihilego but that thing can't switch in and pops to any phys attack

He's trash at literally everything that isn't catching pokemon. His typing and movepool makes him a good catchmon, but the story enemies shit all over him because everyone has Dark moves, the NPCs in the battle tree will shit on him effortlessly, and players online will shit on him endlessly because everyone fucking has Dark moves.

Been using alolan marowak in my team. It puts in work. Baiting and switchblocking elec attacks and then sweeping reliably with a single boost. Good defensive typing, Thick club benefits, access to a widely typed and very effective movepool.

It's my new favorite of this gen.

Anon everything is viable in game. My Marowak one shot the Lurantis and Vikavolt totems and his fire stab has been great in general, he's easily my strongest mon.

With the fact that a lot of egg moves aren't in because pokebank, knock off isn't common, sucker punch got nerfed by 10 bp
I run him in a trick room team because his speed sucks, but 3 type immunities is awesome to switch in with, and he hits 3/4 tapus and majority of UB pretty hard

It's not just that he's physically damaging, he is also physically defensive, because the resists alone aren't enough to take potentially boosted hits from the physical UBs and still take another to attack. Then everything else just works slightly in his favor - Flare Blitz is stronger than Fire Blast and won't cost you a game now and then with a miss, to deliver the same-ish power Chandelure would need Life Orb, Marowak has powerful Ground and Rock coverage options, and while Lightningrod vs Infiltrator isn't completely one-sided, it handles specific super strong in-meta Pokemon in OU right now.

Is special Pheremosa really common though? I think most people are using physical with Ice Beam. Would make a great lure/surprise set though. I'm guessing Pheremosa is too broken as a physical/mixed set that people aren't willing to mess around with a gimmicky special variant.

I love A-Marowak because it immediately shows who is bad and good at this game, or at the very least, who is paying attention to what the good players say.

I used Alolan Marowak for the main game (And in all honesty, the only reason I made this thread was because I just wanted to see why people said that he was such an illegal killer)
Anyways mine had Lightning Rod as an ability (And essentially murdered Hau's Raichu)

In all honesty, I recommend Thick Bone as mine has always been able to take an Earthquake.

Air Balloon is best on an offensive Marowak, who is both quite slow and would benefit even more from the Thick Club. If you fear ground that much, run defensive with Shuca.

The Bonemarang guy managed to get 2 right at least. Bonemarang over Earthquake for Grassy Terrain, WoW, and Flare Blitz. Fire Punch and Shadow Bone over Charge and Claw though.

This is so useful for two reasons.

One: It gives Marowak an immunity to Electric attacks.

Two: It means Tapu Koko can't do jackshit to its partner in doubles without using Discharge
