I swear they must have changed catching mechanics this gen. Nothing, not even the legendaries, have taken me more than 10 balls, and that's without weakening or putting things to sleep. Usually it's just thunder wave + ultra ball or an immediate quick ball if I don't want to do all that and anything is caught
