>>30402288Ignoring obvious children and those definitely old enough to be retired:
>HoennBrawley, Flannery, Winnona, and Juan don't seem to have jobs. Norman's gym leader status seems pretty explicitly to BE his job. None of the Elite 4 are said to have jobs either.
>SinnohGardenia, Candice, and Volkner don't seem to have jobs. Crasher Wake is a wrestler but we don't know if it's a hobby or if he actually works as one, it's ambiguous. Again, none of the Elite 4 are said to have jobs.
>UnovaThis is where the job theme really started, but still. Brycen didn't originally have a job before BW2. Nor does Marshal or Marlon, it seems. But that's it here.
>KalosTheme is strongest here. Only Olympia doesn't have a job/hobby.
>AlolaOnly Olivia has something approaching traditional work, where she owns a business. Everyone else seems to just patrol around at the will of the Tapus.
However, I should also point out that a lot of the creative types aren't EMPLOYED by anyone. They make art/take photos/garden etc and maybe make money off of that, but that's no nine to five.
Regardless, it seems to me that they just give trainers jobs to give them an extra theme. Not to reflect society.
