When I first saw it on Kaphotic's vid, I thought that all the UB's were getting types that didn't make sense. Needless to say I got very confused when it showed Buzzwole as Bug/Fighting.

Well, glass is heated sand. Sand Rush, Sand Force, etc. are all common Rock-type abilities. The thematic of sand/glass probably belongs to the Rock type and that's the explanation.

It doesn't even learn Attract or any other infatuation ability.

This fluff was part of all of Pheromosa official descriptions and it's even reflected in the name, but actual gameplay completely disregards it.
This gen was really bad about inconsistent fluff in general. Nihilego is supposed to be a shapeshifter that resembles a girl on its own regardless of Lusamine craziness. Vikavolt.

Fighting/Fairy special attacker would've been hilarious because of Draining Kiss, and think of its wings as fairy wings. Xurkitree could've been Electric/Grass, and if they wanted 1 UB to be single typed, Guzzlord would be way better as pure Dragon.

Glass used to be primarily made from silicates, which is a mineral. Anything made of glass would probably be a rock type. Crystal already falls in that category, i.e. Carbink and Diance.
