While the writing of the story/plot of Sun and Moon wasn't too good, we can all agree that the writing for the characters was outstanding this gen, right?

Seriously, every character was so damn interesting and detailed.

This approach to writing has ALWAYS been my favorite. You can write a simple timeline of events and just drop amazingly written characters in it and it's 100% better

I'd say so. The characters and the atmosphere were done masterfully, to the point where you forget that the plot's nothing too special and get totally sucked in anyhow.

Agreed, I expected to be completely annoyed with both Lillie and Hau the whole time (especially the latter) but they both won me over by the plot's climax
