Let me set the record straight here.
Gen 1, the beginning of pokemon and some of the most iconic designs but a couple dumb ass designs (Mr. Mime and Jynx I'm looking at you)
Gen 2, about the same as gen 1, baby pokemon were a mistake, but dark types are all pretty dope and there really were no godawful designs
Gen 3, Probably the high point of pokemon designs, all 3 starters are dope, gardevoir porn starts being created, pokemon get abilities that actually differentiate pokemon of the same types from eachother
Gen 4, everything falls apart, starting with bidoof, then there's the new trade evolutions of magmar, electabuzz, magneton, and rhydon. Eventually it reaches a critical mass of shit culminating in Lucario x Gallade porn and even disgusting Ralts porn.
Gen 5, apparently a nuke went off and morphed all the good designs into shit and brought dozens of species of inanimate objects to life. Shit like Klinklang, Vanilluxe, and LITERALLY A BAG OF GARBAGE come to life as pokemon.
Gen 6. Nintendo realizes that they fucked up royally with the last gen, they need a new gimmick, and mega forms are introduced and look retarded without exception. If that wasn't enough they had the great idea to add the brand new faggot I mean fairy type of pokemon. However, talonflame IS dope as fuck.
Gen 7. We are in paradise, there are so many god tier pokemon designs this gen, and even legendaries don't all look terrible. We've got cute pokemon like stufful, we've got cool pokemon like Lycanroc, hell gamefreak even said "let's make a gay fish with lips" and the design turned out good. Not to mention we've got porn of Salazzle, and the human pokegirls are hot too. Basically pokemon is better than it's ever been.
