People don't hate Generation VII. Almost everyone loves it and think it's the best in the series.

I actually haven't seen a lot of hate, people seem to like it a lot better than X and Y, and for good reason. It's a fantastic game, definitely one of my favorite Pokemon games.

SM are without a doubt MILES better than the shitshows that were XY and ORAS, but I wouldn't say they're flawless, they have a few problems with them that dont ruin the over all experience but do kind of make things feel a little flat.

>small and limited dex
>streamlined route and cave designs
>the norm for average trainers in the first two islands is two Pokemon at most (kind of forces you into using the xp share)
>plot wise a lot of things dont reach their full potential (Gladion doesnt do anything, Guzma doesnt do anything, Faba doesnt do anything, Type Null is unimportant, Ultra Space is a whole bunch of nothing ect)
>Some towns are really sparse and empty feeling, you cant go into a lot of houses/buildings
>kanto pandering still everywhere (albeit its a bit better than it was in this game than in XY since other regions get a lot of nods too)

dont get me wrong they're far from bad games, and are the best Pokemon games GF has made in like 4 years but there are a few issues that I think would bug people

Nobody said Gen 7 was the best, OP only said it deserves love, so I don't quite get your salty response.
As somebody who obviously loves to jack off over Gen 5, you should be able to appreciate a more story-driven Gen with better written characters than other non-5 Gens.

Because they took out every single QoL feature from all games released in the last 6 years and replaced them with much, MUCH shittier versions, if they bothered to replace them at all. They fucked up clothes by including fewer options than X and Y, then fucked it up even more by making version exclusive clothing, taking out the ability to save outfits, and they took out Photo Spots and PR Videos so there isn't a way to share outfits easily. They took out Triples, Rotations and Inverse battles, etc. Post-game training hasn't been this tedious since Gen 3. They took all the worst things about Wifi connectivity from Gens 4, 5 and 6, and none of the good ones to make Festival Plaza. Region is far too simple to navigate. At least X and Y had labyrinths like Pokemon Village and Terminus Cave.

Z-Moves are mostly shit and attacks generally aren't worth using. Only a handful of Z-Status moves are worth forgoing your item slot for. Instead of Megas, some of which made shitmons viable like Manectric and Ampharos and Beedrill, we have fewer Alolan forms, all of which are garbage.

They even took out all the little, tiny details. There are like 5 ribbons in the game. They didn't bother to make any additional wallpapers aside from what you start with.

I finished the game very quickly so if there are upsides I'm not seeing, I can't imagine that they exceed the dozens of downsides.

The fact that the new mechanic is as ridiculously broken as Megas is a good thing.

All you've mentioned is petty shit, half of which is straight up wrong. Even if all of it was true it would only be enough to hate the game if you only had 7 days to live and had to savour every second you could.
