He wants money. That's really all there is to it. He makes videos with clickbaity titles for views, he gets loads of partnerships and ads or whatever to boost his channel in search results (have you seen the descriptions of his videos? They're a mile long.), and he acts out for infamy, gets people talking about him, makes himself a well-known name for publicity.
It's all a well-oiled system, and verlisity takes advantage of it to the max so he can make money.
I mean, think about it. Viewers and subscribers have only one purpose; to watch his videos and make him money. He doesn't need them to like him. He doesn't need them to be his friends. All he needs is views.
