Sure it hits hard as fuck, but it has no speed and running focus sash just sounds stupid in general

Yes it's "viable", but just barely there as it takes damage from all hazards and doesn't take phys hits particularly well. I'm sure it'll make a splash in UU though.

Incineroar gets a ehh but useful already around ability.

Prima gets a nerfed version of a good ability.

Owl was expected to be the popular one so he gets the 'cool' original ability but it's still not op by intention.

To be fair, most mons in Alola got shafted hard in singles. It's mostly just Tapus and UBs who were near guaranteed to be good, and Toxapex. Stuff like Alola Marowak and Ninetales have a niche now but no one knows what'll happen to them.

You could argue all of the starters got shafted, but Primarina by far got it the worst. Decidueye got a good signature move and Incineroar got a good HA. Primarina meanwhile got a bad version of Surf and a useless version of Pixilate. It also has by far the worst moveset of the three.

It wont' be higher than RU. It's like GF saw it's typing and wanted to make it as bad as possible to see how bad it could be.

I'm starting to think they want to push Incineroar. It gets a good HA for doubles, good moves for doubles, it practically gets two signature moves because Weavile only gets Throat Chop from it.

the owl clearly copies the design aspects that Lucario/greninja do for 'cool' design according to GF

Roar's clearly mean to be the chesnaught, the big brawler guy whose not for everyone, but some people love no matter what.

Prima's meant to be for people who wanted something feminine looking and either ignores it's gender or just SR/breeds for females.

Chesnaught and Incenroar are 'masculine' designs people usually prefer male.

Decidi and Gren are 'neutral' designs that people can accept as male or female

Prima and Delph or 'feminine' designs they expect girls or people who wanted a 'girly' pokemon to like.

Prima's just not terrible enough her sucking is a meme like Delph, but not good enough using her is funny either. thus all we get are Primarina(male) meme's and waiting for porn.

Fire's clearly the popular type for young boys. grass is biased to monster/dinosaur designs which kids also love, water just has SO much competition in caught in game options, plus the always good Gyrados you can easily get every single game.

Swampert was OU in ADV metagame and Mega Swampert is OU. Feraligatr is UU in the XY metagame and even UU in the GS, RS, and DP metagame. Mega Blastoise is UU like Blastoise was UU in RB, GS, RS, DP, and BW's metagame. Empoleon was OU in DP, UU in BW, and is UU in XY. Meanwhile Samurott is NU in BW and XY. I don't know where this meme came from that Water starters are shit in the majority of metagames because this obviously isn't true. They've actually done quite well with often people bitch about the starters being underwhelming competitively.

I'm not really talking about the past, I'm talking about currently. And UU around gens 6-7 is pretty average. They aren't terrible, but they generally fall off later on and don't get big things that skyrocket their viability like Contrary Serperior, Megazard, Chlorophyll and then Mega Venusaur. Blastoise and Swampert got megas that helped but not nearly on the same level.

I'm 99.9% sure Primarina will get Boomburst via event or tutor.

It literally doesn't have it right now because the HA isn't out.

Boomburst HA Primarina > Intimidate Inceniroar > Primarina = Inceniroar > Decidueye > HA Decidueye (unless it get something VERY special to abuse it with).

That's the standing from a pure competitive standpoint. If Prima doesn't get Boomburst, Intimidate is enough to bypass it easily.

It's Z-move is sound-based. Dex entry talks about it's voice. You're moronic if you think it won't get it.

As far as Gamefreak knows, we don't even know it has a hidden ability. It'll be a tutor move in a future entry. Hyper Voice just goes with its lore and design.

If it's hidden ability was Serene Grace or actually a Water type Pixelate, it would've been great.

If it's special move functioned like Hex where it would deal double damage to burned targets while healing it, it would've been great.

If it got access to some sort of recovery like Slack Off or Recover, it would've been great.

It could've easily outclassed Decidueye, Incineroar, and Tapu Fini as one of the most useful special attackers of this generation but GF is retarded. I'm still mad Incineroar is so slow

It is supposed to be used as a Choice specs bulky special attacker. I have seen my Opera cumdump take a chunk out of an opponent's toxapex using ice beam. I'd say about 25%. It is an amazing mon in battlespot singles and pairs up nicely with a bulky physical sweeping marowak(alolan).

Gen 7 is the gen where speed matters less and alolan bulk begins to shine. We have to thank gamefreak for these meal. Itadkimasu-
