I'm a bit clueless as to how z moves work. If a pokemon has an ability that switches normal moves to a different type, would the z move be normal type as usual?

Would the z move change into a different type? Would it factor in the 20% bonus from the ability for the z move's base power?

Would this all depend on the z crystal used? Because z metronome changes into whatever type was used.
