Gen 4 and 5 have the best soundtracks in the entire franchise. Gen 7 has great battle themes but routes and stuff like that are pretty sub-par, Paniola Town and Malie City at night are both god-tier though

The music is good but almost none of it is memorable. Particularly the town music which I think this has been a problem starting with Gen 5. Maybe it's just a side effects of the music getting progressively more instrumental rather than the classic chiptune in my opinion.

The music is nice, but its not memorable. Both of Lusamine's battle themes and Gladion's encounter theme are the best songs in the game really. I didn't like the skull theme at all and everything sounds way too fucking happy rather than intense or epic. (Hau theme lel)
Gen 5 will always have the best music, hands down, and be the best generation.
