Mine are 37-39. Was fine on Aether but suddenly trainers all have lvl 45. Not sure if I missed something. Not using the exp.gay either

I was and even then I was still underleveled
My Pokemon ended up on the late 40/early 50 by the time I got to the E4
Fighting Lusamine almost gave me an Aneurysm

You're not supposed to be grinding in this game. If you go through the game battling only trainers you'll be 1-3 levels higher than everyone else.

I know, I'm not grinding. But trainers become a bore when you're a few levels higher than them. Ideally they should be equal level/one or two levels higher than you.
