Hyper Training requires you to level the Pokemon all the way up to 100 despite them being set to 50 in every competitive environment, and in a game where the options for leveling up are incredibly limited. There is no good way to get to 100. You can't even circumvent the grind a little by doing a one-time investment on hyper training a perfect ditto, because hyper trained stats do not pass on when breeding.
Just breeding for the IVs you need is still faster, especially when the egg receiving/hatching process is so much smoother and faster now, mass-checking IVs is less painful, and you can chain for a 4iv pokemon in like half an hour.
Hyper training is basically only useful for putting the finishing touches on a legendary Pokemon, or fixing a shiny Pokemon that wouldn't see any use otherwise.
