Also this path near the Jurassic park ripoff with a clear opening, how do I get there? If you look at your map it's like a pocket North of kiawe's trial site.

There's a sign not too far away outside mentions to look very carefully in the Meadow for secrets

I totally skipped the desert and Power Plant though, but that was more of a thing of knowing it was there but not giving a shit at the time

What I meant is there are almost no optional caves or anything like that. Everything is streamlined to the point you cant even go to some places that hold no importance like haina desert without going through a trial.

There is a sign by the southern end of the Route that tells you that the meadow has more to it than meets the eye.

I didn't find it until after the E4 either but it didn't take more than 10 minutes.

In lush jungle, on the rightmost area, there is a square boulder to move that leads you to that area.

On the leftmost part of diglets cave, there is a boulder to move. You can't actually go in the lighthouse itself though.

I found that shit immediately, but I completely forgot about the desert area after I beat the ghost trail and had to come back post E4. I even went up to the gate beforehand and got told off, too.

That's not your fault. I got lucky because I figured I should grind a bit before the ghost trial, and found them and Absol after 10s of encounters. What about that little cliff screams "ice Pokemon"?
Outside of retroactively justifying it with the mountain geographically north of the spot. I'm more upset about the black beach not having much in the way of interesting new Pokemon.

I found the Bay because I ran into that little crawl - space in accident (I actually had trouble finding it purposely when I came back with Lapras). I totally missed the beach to the right of the resort though; the one with Pyukumuku chucking and Polisand. I only found it just before taking on Poni Canyon

The path through Lush Jungle you're talking about leads to the Energy Ball TM. The Jurassic Park area is the fossil revival guy's caravan thing, and the entrance to it is just off of Route 8, if I remember correctly. There's nothing really there, though.

I saw the barricade, it said i needed to clear the ghost trial, i cleared the ghost trial, i remembered that i can go there now, and so i was on my way to the fucking desert family

That being said, it was fucking underwhelming. Literally the only pokemon there are Dugtrio and the crocodile. The variety this gen is fucking shit.

I found it on my first walk of the cave, but something else has been going on with me;

When I started the game, I was annoyed by all the hand holding, but when it does it less, I don't feel like exploring because I'm sure the game will send me there when I'm supposed to be there.

I think shelder is exclusive to the bay and bagon has a higher encounter rate but still wish there was more cool areas to discover with cool stuff within them

I did Acerola's trial then just moved on. It never occurred to me to go back and say "hey that gate could be open by now, let's go to the desert". Kinda glad I didn't, the desert is a bit frustrating, mostly due to the shaking spot encounters. Normally in any other RPG I wouldn't mind them because usually you can do stuff to get a first strike advantage but here they're just tedious and a chore and Repels won't save you.

He's saying that it doesn't make sense that the desert is locked until you've gone past where it's located.
If you find a small optional side path you should have the option of going in it, instead of being locked out for no reason.

Just checked it out, not much there except 2 Zygarde Cells, some guy who gives you Safety Goggles, the Psychium Z and Sandiles.

There's nothing of value there anyways. I just wasted repels getting there.

There hasn't been a good hidden spot in pokemon since that route were you can encounter Jigglypuff in Hoenn.

I didn't have trouble finding this because I checked every nook and cranny of every area I visited throughout the game. JRPGs have conditioned me to do this ever since Final Fantasy 9, a game that was pretty notorious for how many secrets there were to find in it.
