I was suspicious once I realized just how many overworld Pokemon models were used in the game. With Alola's emphasis on the relationship between Pokemon and humans, seems like a perfect fit.

Considering the quality of the first entries in this gen, I have no doubt this will end up being the best Pokemon generation to date.

this is probably gen 8 gimmick. They were slowly giving more and more pokemon to overworld so they can get used to it I guess. Gen 8 region will be designed specifically with walking pokemon in mind, although I can be completely wrong since they are pretty much lazy and incompetent.

You mean Machamp, Meowth, Machamp, Alola Meowth, Machamp, Yungoos, Machamp, Miltank, Machamp, the Ride Pokémon, Machamp and Machamp? Yeah, the game really uses a lot of different overworld Pokémon. My favourite is Machamp.

I hope they have more trainers on routes with pokemon outside of their pokeballs to go along with it.

One of the aspects I disliked about it in Heartgold/SoulSilver was the fact that barely anyone had their pokemon outside of the pokeball. It made felt like I going around yelling "HEY GUYS LOOK AT HOW UNIQUE AND SPECIAL I AM CUS I GOT MY POKEMON FOLLOWING ME"

Gen 5 didn't have ALL overworld pokemon, just the ones from Gen 1-4, and those were all ported from HGSS. It's why there wasn't any gen 5 pokemon in the entralink.

And even in HGSS I didn't care for it. However, I made my first comment before seeing the videos, they seem to be adding more personality to the walk and run cycles. I laughed at Komalas run cycle. But I'm still sceptical, hopefully you can turn it on and off at will.

It's a general modelling thing. For certain animations that require distortion, like a body part growing bigger, it's often easier to just have the end animation of the arms modeled separately and swap which of the two is visible. It's also why you can see Bulbasaur's vines in its default model.

The animations are just obviously a bit unfinished and don't make the other arms disappear like they should.
