The problem with the haunter/gengar is that they only learn explosion, not selfdestruct which is the real problem, i'm gonna try the parasect or the smeargle

How about just try catching the 11th one that appears? That's the soonest they can have their HA. If you want a specific ball, just catch any male in it and breed it with a female for 50/50 chance to pass down the ball.

Get a Damp Parasect. Then, when Geodude uses Self Destruct, use Spore on it. Switch in Smeargle, use Sketch. There's your Self Destruct.
