I actually wouldn't mind if they do it like monster hunter, where the text dialogue is preceded by a slight hmph or grunt, basically giving the impression "this is what the character sounds like" but not actually voice-acting entire lines.

No voice acting kills RPGs dead. They just need to work on the whole "dialog choices" deal more. It was really fun getting to change little things with dialog choices, I'd love to be able to change bigger things with dialog choices -- maybe throw in some facial expressions like the other characters get too.

I don't think GF would want VA in Pokemon either way. I think characters in the game are always silent because GF wants us to put the voices in the characters as we're reading through the text.

I dont like her. I also dont buy her "getting stronger" story which is basically the whole SM because she's already pretty strong and independent anyway. She ran away from home and was walking around like it was nobodys buisness

Granted, she didn't fight using Pokemon, but she was on the frontlines. Considering how all of her life she's done nothing against her mother's wishes, this isn't an easy thing to do.

So, I liked Lillie. Didn't love her but I liked her. But I think she could've been done better.

How would you guys have improved her? I'm replaying SM right now and in the beginning she seems like a broken tape recorder, constantly repeating "I don't like to see Pokemon get hurt". In addition, it seems weird to have her afraid of helping Nebby despite being with it for the larger part of 3 months.

Imo, what should have happened was that she becomes more proactive in helping Pokemon after running away from her mom. In addition, (You) should've just leapt into action to help Nebby on the bridge without prompting from her if only to make her seem less pathetic.

Seem like a decent idea?

Basically the same appeal Mimikyu has, except in the form of a cute waifu. She's a dime-a-dozen model can very easily be reproduced, but she appeals to basic needs and wants.

I get the idea behind the bridge scene the presentation on the 3DS just wasn't good enough to sell it. She was supposed to be trembling, crying and at the border of emotional collapse. She has acrophobia so she can't deal with height. They should have made her model tremble a bit and actually try to cross the bridge before collapsing to her knees. Then the player arrives and helps Cosmog.

I feel the biggest thing Bianca has over Lillie is actually becoming a different person

She isn't timid/shrill and disappears from the story for a bit to train

Yes she wasn't abused but she learned how to live her life

Seeing her as the essentially professor in BW2 was the coolest. Seeing her not needing training and protection, to protecting others was cool

The biggest issue is that you would need to spend at least SOME time in her "unwilling to fight with Pokemon" phase and I'm not sure how justifiable that is from a gameplay perspective.

Another problem is I doubt GF is willing to have the player themselves in that kind of home situation.
