>>30599591One time there was a 25 cent Pikachu doll I had in my cart at a Goodwill, and some women noticed it and said her kids were obsessed with Pokemon, so I let her have it. Her kids spent the rest of the hour or so following me around the store asking about Pokemon and their mom seemed happy that they had something to do besides running around the store breaking shit. (one of them had a Sneasel toy and asked me to make a list of which moves it knew)
You should have heard some of the crazy ideas they had about Pokemon. They were surprised when I told them male Pokemon could learn attract, bragged about seeing the Jirachi movie, and kept wanting to know what other Pokemon Ash had (from what I gathered, their knowledge of Pokemon mostly came from Boomerang reruns of AG and some BW episodes). My absolute favorite thing was when one of them went "one of my friends said Mewtwo turned Ash to stone" in a way that he was obviously expecting me to confirm it was bullshit.
It's good to know that there are still kids like that these days.
