>>30607587I never liked N or Ghetsis. It was the first time in a Pokémon game that I felt like there was something bigger than me going on in the story. Their father/son weird drama was completely distracting.
Other games make you feel like a hero... you smash Rocket in RBY, thwart them again in GSC, defeat two rival teams in Emerald, save the world from being ripped apart in DPPT. And even ORAS had you back to it, flying into space on a dragon to fight an alien.
But N and Ghetsis. Who fucking cares? And then the sequel, where your accomplishments are overshadowed by N and other you. It was trying to bank on some stuff gen 2 already did... enemy team in shambles, legends of the last character you played, whatever. And then SM had weird family drama that you were a side character in again.
I didn't intend to write all of this when I started.
