Honestly, the speeds for the animals doesn't even matter that much. The island is small enough in a lot of areas that stoutland and tauros cover a lot of land even if you aren't doing tauros's sanic mode. The only downside is eggs, and I just auto-hatch eggs using pokepelago and play something else anyway.

For what fucking purpose? I would've accepted having an ice boulder where you can catch Sandshrew and Ninetails at the very foot of the mountain, even if that is a bit late compared to the others, or a retcon Eevee to evolving with an Ice Stone. But no.

You don't even get an Eevium Z until postgame so it isn't like you can at least have a slightly upgraded Eevee to tide you over until then.

Kids play this game, you idiot. If they show the character not wearing the proper safety gear then kids will go out and try to ride their Tauros in real life without any protective gear and end up getting really hurt.

Have you played a single Pokemon game? The ingame obviously encourages singles, many many moves were designed with singles in mind, doubles moves didn't get added until the recent gens, there's like 8 double battles you can get into ingame, and most if not all of them are optional.

Pokemon since day 1 has been about 6v6 singles, but Gamefreak forced the 4v4 doubles meme starting from Gen 4 to make game times shorter. So then people started sucking doubles dick for some incomprehensible reason despite the fact that the foundation of the franchise is singles and doubles is literally only used because of company convenience.

If it's any consolation, triple/rotation battles were originally in the game. Evidence can be found during that one Aether Foundation fight against three grunts.

Two of the grunts have Pokemon weak to Ground moves, and the third guy has a Porygon2 with Magnet Rise. Their dialogue suggested it was meant to be a triple battle, but because the the 3DS was being pushed to its max already, they had to recode it into a single battle for each.

Bounsweet only shows up on the western side of Lush Forest, but it does have a 40% appearance rate there, so it's not hard to find even by accident. Fortunately it's not like every other Pokemon in the game, that only have a 5% spawn rate on one route unless they're a fucking Yungoos, Rattata, or Wingull.

Because getting excited to see what new Pokemon you can find on each route isn't how it was done back in Gen I. You have to make the player want to do everything in their power to avoid any wild Pokemon if you really want to pander to nostalgia.

Seriously, I'm not as down on these games as a lot of people seem to be, but if Gen VI did anything right, it was the distribution and variety of wild Pokemon in each area, and seeing them go back to Johto-tier distribution is a huge disappointment.

Z moves are better than gems were, aside from Acrobatics and Unburden combos.
Only thing you could note as a downside is that Z-moves activate when targeting a Protecting mon. But they chip through in exchange.
