I've always gotten very close to completion since Gen IV but I never actively pursue a full dex

i know right? it's almost as if people aren't so dedicated to the game that they want to track down 300 different pokemon they wont use ever again

i mean i have decided to complete it for the first time this gen and im 65% done but it aint exactly a fast and easy process

lol, I never understood the whole "catch 'em all" thing. Never catched pokemon I didn't plan to use. It wasn't until gen6 that I got random pokemon thru gts/wonder trade but never for dex completion.

Its amazing what trading random shit gets you on the GTS. I traded a metagross for a porygonZ and chain-traded through all the shitty "trade with item" evolutions.

Closest I've ever gotten was in OR I was trying to complete it and did all of Kanto and Johto including all the unknowns,Hoenn was pretty easy but I gave up trying to get all the Sinnoh mons

I completed the pokedex the second time in my life. But the difference is the first time I did it with the National Dex in Omega Ruby, and I did it with a living dex too.
