Giratina is the only thing that lives in the Distortion World, while Ultra Space seems to be reasonably inhabited by UBs. So probably not.

More likely, the Distortion World and Ultra Space are both individual alternate worlds that both exist in their own bubbles outside of the "main" universes we play in.

Though I'm very interested in seeing where the eventual DP remakes deal with this, the Mega Universe, and UBs.

Its possible that the creation trio exist in all universes and maybe this event caused a rip in space time that threw the ultrasverse into chaos.
Hell maybe giratina is the reason why some guys from different universe started popping up, it does seem to be able to rip holes in reality.

Yeah... they are really wearing this character thin. From the beggining i thought he looked like a generic NPC, and for the longest time I thought he was just supposed to be comedy relief. But in Generations and Sun and Moon they act like he's totally serious, and it just isn't working for me.

I actually wouldn't mind if Giratina and the Distortion World were retconned as Ultra Beasts/Ultra Space. Or at least connected to them somehow.

I like him. I think he makes the Pokémon universe more believable, like there's at least some kind of governmental organization that isn't the "Pokémon Police" or whatever.

And they do seem to be developing some sort of overarching plot with him. Like, maybe there's some sort of connection to his washing ashore in Hoenn with amnesia in ORAS. It'd be a pretty long-game type of plot, to be slightly more developed each game, if that's what they're going for, but it's intriguing.
