as written it is currently similar to the moves psyshock, psystrike, and secret sword all of which "do physical damage"
all three of those moves are special attacks that use the users special attack stat when calculating power but use the opponents defense stat to calculate damage.

you would want the ability to say "all ball based attacks act as physical attacks" the important thing is the attack changing type, not the damage.
