Also Sylveon shared its debut with Wonder Trade, so that made it abundant back then. Apricorn Balls being available this generation will most likely keep them a bit high up there with breeding rejects. That last part only applies to newer/casual players who probably don't know about the balltism lengths certain other players will go through.
Balltism & egg moves aren't going to matter so much once Pokemon Bank returns, among other things.
