1. You should be drawing a lot. Every day is optimal but not absolutely required.

2. Dont worry about every sketch being perfect. In fact, that's most likely going to end with you giving up. Have fun, doodle in a sketchbook.

3. Gesture drawing is your friend. Also look into anatomy, color theory, line weight, rendering/lighting, and expression.

4. Again, have fun with the process! Art is difficult, but it's also pretty awesome to be able to draw what you can see in your head.
