Why is your player character always a string bean little 11-year old? Why not let players have different body builds? Why not let them make their own story? Why is it always you moving somewhere new with your single mom?

Because games like BW and SM gets a shit ton of praise for having a "great story" despite the stories not being particularly unique. Just as long as they take away all freedom so they can railroad the story without any player input then it will be praised since people don't want to actually role play in an rpg.

Because Norman's career as gym leader keeps taking him to other regions and each generation revovles around the story of one of the kids of the many women he impregnated. I guess he's doing the world a favor since each kid has saved the world from some sort of catastrophe, it possibly has something to do with their genes.

That sounds shit. I don't want the protags to be a bunch of Ash's. I do like the idea of there being no tutorial, but each game has a different protagonist with his own team, achievements and adventure.
