I don't get it, why'd they make this guy appear so late in the game? It seems pointless that he has a mid evo at all.

I get the feeling you were supposed to hit Poni Island A LOT sooner, because Vast Poni Canyon is also the obligatory 'magnetic area that evolves magnet 'mons'

I don't think you can even find Larvitar until you complete Kanto for Gen 2
With Bagon, you would need to have the 8th badge

So I honestly don't get why people are still complaining about this
Trade a low level bred one and use it then. How hard is that?

Deino was far worst. You weren't evolving it prior to beating Ghetsis due to a combination of it reaching its final form at level 64 and scaled experience.
