D/P were great games, plat just fixed a few problems and added more content, that doesn't make diamond and pearl awful games.
same with R/S, emerald was the fix and added content and a cutscene, made the experience better, but R/S were still the shit.
gen 5, eh... it was decent, i had no problem with the new pokemon lock, it opened up a new experience, same with gen 3 and 4, they introduce new pokemon for first few routes, then ease back to older gens. gen 5 did a lot of firsts, and they came out well.
Only complaint i ever had to older games was that most water types were meh and flying types were limited to a strick few till end game.
but to anyone that still thinks one game is superior than the rest
