This has probably been asked a lot.

But if I'm interested in Gen 5, should I play BW or simply just start at BW2?

BW: best story game
BW2: Inferior story-wise but everything else is better (no need to play BW1 to catch up with BW2)

So I'd say that if you can play both do it. If not, perhaps BW2.

B2W2 have the PWT, Black Tower/White Treehollow, medal collection and Join Avenue. i agree that bw2 is superior, but bw had a better story by far, and all new mons was refreshing as all fuck. next to those, bw had better characters

I started with just BW2 and didn't have any problems but it doesn't hurt to start with BW plus there's some memory link stuff that enhances the story

It doesn't really matter but I'd recommend starting with black/white anyways since it'll help you be a little more prepared for the second games. Do whatever you want though

Postgame is the meat and potatoes of Pokémon. It makes or breaks the game.

When you have well over 500 hours on the save those 10 it took to do the story means nothing. And the BW narrative is stupid anyway.

You say that but I enjoyed the first game far more than the second game. The second game was a such a slog to go through and the "post game" just kinda blurred together for me. The only thing I miss from the second one was the movie shit.
