The internal part of its evolution isn't as cute as the prevo, when it would work REALLY WELL with a monstrous outside/cute weakpoint thing going on.

Nah, it's just plain cute, the whole predator thing adds a likable amount of edge to offset the adorable design.
Not to say there aren't people who wouldn't fuck Mareanie though, but you can tell the people who'd fuck Mareanie and actual fans of Mareanie based on who likes Toxapex.
