>Story or some suchRival's a young man in his early twenties or so who lost his family as the result of a wild Pokémon attack on his hometown. Realizing how dangerous Pokémon are, he wants to destroy them all so that only humans remain. However, he realizes that doing this could cause severe ecological and economic problems, so instead he travels around researching ways to incorporate technology in the relegation of labor and the maintaining of nature in an effort to eventually fully "replace" Pokémon in the world. He uses "manmade" Pokémon believing that they lack morality and emotion, and would carry out his will regardless of the circumstances.
This turns out to be incorrect, of course. In the protag's optional encounters and battles with him, they can gradually convince him that Pokémon aren't inherently evil even when not with a trainer, or
they can join him down his dark road of Pokémon annihilation, making the game's story take a completely different turn. This would be too dumb to happen in any of the games, of course.
