Alola's Aether Paradise focuses on primarily protecting pokemon in Alola from environmental peril, such as corsola. Lusamine going crazy and the abuse of pokemon that follows aside. It's also mostly artificial.
Those two are opposites
Johto's is just an excuse to get one of the hard to find Johto mons in Johto instead of Kanto once per month, if you have the right zone. The zones, adding props for customization, and being useful for mostly Johto mons don't really make it feel like an opposite.
That or just Kanto pandering.
