One Piece, Madoka, Gurren Lagann, and several others had movies that were just a bunch of episodes of the anime re-animated with a higher budget and chopped down to fit into a movie (or two). This is probably going to be the entire first season chopped down into an hour and a half highlight reel and reanimated. If they're feeling particularly creative, they might even make some retcons, like working Ritchie into an earlier part of the story instead of having him pop up during the league.
