Shiny legendaries should be for distributions and events only.

It would make no sense to go through an hour of cutscenes with Nebby, then start the battle and have her spontaneously be bright red out of nowhere.

I feel like Lunalas is based on Blood Moon Eclipses which tint the moon brown or red.

Solgaleos shiny might be based on the red colored sun you can see in the morning sometimes. Basically a blood moon and a morning sun.

It means that as far as legends are concerned, the moon will usually be associated with women.

Neither Solgaleo nor Lunala might actually produce the offspring for a Cosmog, but for the sake of legends we can associate the moon with the female in the pair.

Also, most moon deities were female.
