>>30792824>I'd say they feel the least like classic Pokemon, but at the same time they're the most solid overall video games to come from the main series.This. Pokemon SM is the complete opposite of "It all comes together." SM was a massive departure, relatively speaking, from Pokemon norm.
My thought on the matter. Pokemon doesn't DO change. They have made the same thing with new paint for the last 20 years. It's completely understandable that things will feel a bit wonky until they find their footing. If anything, I'd say SM felt a little too cautious. SM needed to hurl itself off a cliff to do well, but it hesitated at the last second and tripped instead.
Unrelated to gameplay, the atmosphere of SM is unmatched. This one game has done more for the pokemon universe than any other title, by a longshot. Lorewise, and not just big-name legendary lore, but day-to-day life in the Pokemon world lore got seriously beefed by this entry.
>>30793580>i fucking hate the multiverse shit.I'm cautious. Multiversal stories can be amazing when done right, but absolutely awful if done poorly. I like Pokemon, but I'm not sure if they have the chops to write such a story and do it well. However, I feel like they are absolutely going to charge into the issue with the inevitable 4th gen remakes. I only hope they don't bite off more they can chew. Multiversal stories have a danger of disappearing up their own asshole when done wrong.
Also, of course, I have to wag my finger at GF again for never keeping anything good. Pokefinder needed to stay, and Festival Plaza was absolutely shitty compared to Join Avenue. I like SOS, but it needs to be rarer, if not tied entirely to the adrenaline orb.
>>30795692>LillieI can agree with this. Lillie is a likable character, but that doesn't mean she isn't a shit character. I'm normally pretty chill, but even I was getting tired of Lillie's shit by the fourth island. I'm not her fucking butler.
