GenII continued it slightly worse
GenIII brought good looks but meh world and worse pokemons with few exceptions, FRLG were good games
GenIV continued good looks and improved mechanics by a ton with good world and tried to backpedal a bit to original looks, Pt was great, remakes were good but fucked up lvl progression and Kanto was kinda bland
GenV fucked up looks a bit, pokemons dropped slightly again, but games introduced fucktons of good quality of life mechanics and hidden abilities to make shitmons less shit, also decent story
GenVI is complete trash, not a single good thing about it
GenVII brought nice way to potentially make shitmons less shit with new forms, but they fucked up some designs (for example diglett, persian and raichu) and fucked up everything else
Perfect pokemon game should have
