Well they wouldn't call them totem Pokemon, but I think of the Gym leader's strongest Pokemon had an "aura: boost like totems, it would be cool.

Totem Pokemon were an infinitely better concept than wailing on some dumbass monotype shitmons. I hope they stay forever.

Only thing they need to implement now are non-catchable, non-Pokemon bosses ala PokeStar Studios.

Chances are that everyone here would still oneshot the final pokemon, but for those not too keen on playing, this would be a welcome surprise.
