Okay, so
>Kanto, all versions, it was a nice dungeon, totally abandoned and mostly hidden away. Had rare pokemon you couldn't catch elsewhere. You could enter because it was abandoned. Optional.
>Johto, all versions, were changed to one room with npcs and a mandatory fetch quest. No pokemon inside. You could enter because of the stolen parts and just because.
>HgSs, Zapdos is sitting next to the door for some reason after you get 16 badges.
>RS Hoenn, I don't think New Mauville was even required. Nice dungeon with voltorb and magnemite lines. Just there and abandoned. Graffiti implying that aqua or magma busted in on the sign. Maybe they broke in to grab electrode for the masterball.
>Emerald, I think it was mandatory. Nothing else changed. Watson asks you to go there.
Only aqua is on the graffiti sign, and they are the ones with the master ball and electrode.
>ORAS, Changed to two rooms. After the legendary event. Layout itself was changed and we couldn't go to the lower floor. Watson unlocks it so you can go there. Grants access to Mauville hills, and you can evolve nospass and magneton there. Optional.
>Sinnoh, Valley Windworks I guess. Just the team Galactic event. You could enter because everyone was held hostage. Drifloon on Fridays. Mandatory.
>Unova, I don't think there was one.
>Kalos, you can enter one of them because team flare was attacking. The rest are just stage props. In the badlands for the setting. Fuck wind and dust clouds. Mandatory.
>Alola: The geothermal power plant for volcanoes/ renewable energy/ Hawaii and pokemon variety. Has a hole in the chain link fence for photos and a nice visitors center. Appears to not be open to the public, hence the center. It's not abandoned, and there is no evil team to allow you to force your way in. Oak shows up there for Alolan geodude. Optional.
Did I get anything wrong?
