>>30839343>Generation IGreat for its time, but has aged horribly. Did a lot of things right, and had a great number of Pokemon with amazing design.
>Generation IIThe worst Gen. Worst plot, worst Pokemon, offers nothing good and is overall irrelevant.
>Generation IIIGreat for its time, but again, aged horribly. Did a lot of great things, such as introducing Hidden Abilities, Battle Frontier and such, and had great Pokemon.
>Generation IVPhysical/Special split alone makes it good, Sinnoh is a beautiful region, Johto isn't mind-numbingly boring anymore, but too many Legendaries, few new Pokemon and slow gameplay. Overall great.
>Generation VMade a lot of positive changes. The new Pokemon were great in both number and design, a lot of new mechanics such as infinite TMs, EXP scaling, NPCs using items and such were great. Focused on the story with more than 2 lines of dialog for the first time, which was great. Great postgame too. Overall the best.
>Generations VIDid some things right, and a lot of things wrong. It was too easy, the pacing was shit, skates were shit, exploring was not fun, the story was downgraded, and the characters were bland. But being 3D was a great change, it also introduced customization, Megas, region was good, with each town having a distinct theme, and the new Pokemon were cool. Overall disappointing.
>Generation VIIOnly one game so far, so hard to judge on equal terms. The new Pokemon aren't as good, and Alola region is a bit bland, the story and characters are the best in the series, but lack of a skip button is going to make it annoying to replay. Alolan forms is a great concept, and HMs being removed is something the series always needed. Customization is there, the graphics are great. It focuses on battles only, which is both a good and a bad thing. Difficulty has also gone up, and trials are fun. Overall, I enjoyed it. Second to BW, in my opinion.
