Only one I haven't played is Gen 1, and what with how incredibly glitchy and outdated Gen 1 is and having played FRLG, it would just be a redundant waste of time.

I've played at least one version of every main series game except ORAS, and most of the spinoffs. Hey You Pikachu! was bullshit.

My roommate, however, has only played Ruby and Emerald. He started playing Platinum on an emulator, but he quit because he got burned out on Pokemon from all of the SM hype on social media.

This is outright incorrect. There are several common glitches that you'll run into during normal gameplay.

Glitch does not mean "missingo and it can fuck up your game forever!!!!".

However they are overstated, you're unlikely to run into a game-breaking glitch by accident, that's certainly true.

Are there seriously people like that on this board? It honestly baffles me how they can call themselves Pokemon fans. Unless you just recently discovered the franchise and haven't gotten around to it there's no excuse for not having played at least one game from each Gen.
