>>30863754You'd be totally right, but I don't think 7 year olds are being introduced right now, and if they are they aren't staying. To 7 year olds now pokemon is just a dumb game that their dads used to play, not cool like call of duty or accessible like... angry birds? Whatever the popular iphone game is now.
So yes, the gen 3 kiddies will grow up and still play into their 20's before they move on, so will the people whose first game was gen 4, or 5. How many do you really think of those who started with gen 6 are staying? How about Gen 7? Already that number is falling. If gen 7 isn't already, then Gen 8 or 9 will be the first games where the majority of fans are only playing for nostalgia and aren't young kids playing for the first time. Once you stop capturing that first time player, it's a slow death as you watch your fanbase grow up and outgrow you and you're slowly left with nothing.
Kids these days are going to move on to other games and leave pokemon behind because this type of game is a relic of the past. Perfect for 90's kids, but not interesting enough to hold the smart phone generation's attention.
