Same dude, I loved platinum, and SS got me back into the series. But the whole breeding system was bad for me, and battle tower was just ok, sam with subway, but PWT was one of the best things to happen to the series. Gen 4 deserves some flack, but that only pushes the franchise forward. Not to mention B/W has more content than D/P, and gen 4 is slow. (I still really like it though, like I said, if it wasn't for gen 4 I wouldn't be back into pokemon.)

He cast a flashy, updated cast of people who couldn't act to save their lives and retained the fan favorites for like, four scenes. Abrams also thought that somehow just taking the original Ultimate Weapon and just making it bigger was somehow compelling.

In short: it was not only an unoriginal copy of a decent film, but it sucked out all the good parts and replaced it with flashy things to impress millenials.

Star wars really isnt that good desu.
Prequels were a disaster.
The original trilogy had questionable plot decisions that could have avoided some of the stuff. Ep7 is just a flashy remake of the originals.
Rogue one though... for a spin off its might even have surpassed the originals. fucking best.

In my experience, it was red/blue and gold/silver being popular in elementary school, ruby/sapphire being popular among the younger kids in elementary school but also played by some in the last couple of grades of elementary, then diamond/pearl and black/white being lame and only played by the loser autists in middle school and high school.

probably one of the worst parts of gen V for me personally (other than the lame atmosphere) was the sheer amount of thematically artificial designs like vanillice that just push the boundaries of "pokemon actually invented these things guys!" hand-waving too far

the dex just really didn't appeal at all to me, even stuff that should have been okay just had weird proportions or overly "sharp" edges like the snivy line that triggered the shit out of me, I know it's a game about magical animals, but I still like magical animals that feel somewhat "grounded" enough that they don't torture the imagination
