The only thing that had to do with alchemy in the game was Alolan Muk's hidden ability, Power of Alchemy. Which was just a reskin of Receiver.
Were they trying to fool Lockstin?

I respectfully disagree. Pheromosa isn't lustful, it just uses pheromones as a defense. It's not unlike big cats using pheromones mixed with their urine to mark their territory. As for Xurkitree you can't really tell whether it's hoarding the energy or really needs this much to survive. Point with Kartana tho.

Dude, I believe the "XY/ORAS/SM copied Digimon" meme as much as anyone, but 7-Star Strike is referencing Hokuto No Ken.
The signature move of Seraphimon is named Seven Heavens in Japanese.

If you meant it as bait, it was too much of a stretch. Try this:

Although to be fair, Angemon does have a visual reference to Kenshiro, so I guess the English name of Seven Heavens is also a reference.
