The first and third points you made are valid, but i disagree with the rest. I liked contests, ORAS is much better than HG/SS, i didn't have any issue with the water quantity, and trumpets are nice.

Gen 5 is the best gen. Some would argue Platinum is also the best game so for that sake lets just say Gen 5 and 4 are tied for the best games

AI being shit doesn't mean anything if they're high above you in levels. ALL gen 1 movesets are bad because of how limited the move selection is.

It's was hard when it was your first pokemon game and you end up with a Charizard with Cut and Fly. When you learn the meta you can take advantage of how bad it and beat the game way too easily.
