Same here. I started with gen 2, then went to gen 1, and by then gen 3 had come out and I got that somehow. Gen 3 was such a breath of fresh air since it had absolutely nothing to do with Kanto. Johto felt like Kanto 2.0 now that I look back on it. You could even say that gen 3 is the real gen 2.

Lucario and the Mystery of Mew is the only good gen 3 movie to begin with. If only they could exclude Ranger and the Temple of the Sea because that's shit as well but I know it's due to a licensing issue with Miramax

Ranger is pretty awful, rewatched it awhile ago after not seeing it since release.

The only good one of those was the Latias/Latios movie and it's still pretty subpar. The Zoroark movie was the same plot but shiny legends instead.

About 5 different plots recycled over and over. Every few years you get something that tries to do something different, like Manaphy, Keldeo, or Hoopa, but even those still have shades of other movies.
