Who else wishes that Gamefreak would've taken more influence from French culture when creating gen 6's pokemon? Gen 5's pokemon were able to take a bunch of inspiration from NYC + America in general (see pic related, as well as the Pidove line, Timburr line, Sandile line, Rufflet line, etc), while gen 6 only really has:
>Pyroar (coat of arms)
>Furfrou (designer French poodles)
>Spritzee line (based on French perfumes + masquerade parties)
>Slurpuff (based on a French pastry)
>Goomy line (based on a French slug cryptid)
Granted, this could be attributed to the drastic difference in size between generations (generation 5 just barely beats out gen 6 and 7 combined in size), but generation 7 was able to introduce a bunch of pokémon with origins rooted in Hawaiian/tropical culture and geology.
