Psychic is the satanic type though because it has alakazam. I see it like fairies created the dragons, and dragons are only one order removed from the ultimate fairy deities so they can't turn on their makers. But the more mundane types are far-removed and in touch with the earth enough that they can hurt the fairies.

I'll admit it is still a lot of mental gymnastics.

Yep. Only one Psychic type really screams magic-user. That's why stuff like Wish and all the Room and Gravity spells are Fairy-type moves. Everyone knows that this flower and that bee are magical, as opposed to that wand-waving fox and that that guy whose evolutionary line is literally magic words.

It's only normal because it literally defines what normal even is. Fairy and psychic are still more magical than other normals specifically because they deviate from that norm even though they're not as powerful as arceus.

Psychics and Fairies are both "magic". Fairies are the "it's magic, we don't have to explain it" brand, while Psychics are the "magic is just a branch of science we don't fully understand" type of magic. That's why the magic-themed psychic types tend to be things like stage performers and wizards, while the magic-themed fairies are creatures who work in mysterious ways.
