Would it be stupid to think he took a wormhole from a non-mega evolution universe (gen 4).. Into a mega evolution universe (gen6)?

Since it was confirmed that there are universes without it (gen 1-5) and universes with it

Can someone explain this multiverse shit to me? I saw it mentioned a couple times and is it just the theory around why mega evolution didn't exist before Gen6? Or is it more explained in SuMo's post game and I just haven't gotten to it?

So basically as I know it, the theory goes there's three universes:
There's the pre gen 6 universe where Mega Evolution was never a thing, the post gen 6 universe where Mega Evolution IS a thing and includes things like the ORAS remakes, and then a third universe that has the OTHER remakes? I don't know it that well because it all sounds dumb as hell to me anyways.

I think universe 1 is gen 1-2 as in RGBY and GSC, universe 2 is gen 3-5 including remakes, and universe 3 is gen 6+
