Got a third shiny Munchlax with Thick Fat last night while trying to get a shiny with Pickup. I gave up and grinded for BP to get an ability capsule. Now I have enough for another capsule when my next shiny Pickup hunt hatches with the wrong ability. Since Lillipup is the only Pickup mon available in SM that I don't have shiny yet (I'm not trying to SOS a shiny Pikipek with it's HA but I caught a non-HA shiny while EV training) it'll be my next hunt.

I do, but I was planning to use that on Cutiefly (which ironically enough, I failed miserably at chaining 2 days ago).
Also Hakamo-o has a really low CR so it probably wouldn't work since all my pokemon are female and it is too.

If you swap breed, how many boxes on average do you take to get the shiny? I've had ranges from 20 eggs to 44 boxes and even if my autism is strong I don't want another fiasco like last time. I want to know if above 24 boxes is average around here.

I was fishing for a Goldeen to chain to get its HA when I came across a Feebas. I figured I'd try and chain to get a shiny. And sure enough, one showed up after about 50.

The cytube has existed since like 2013, anon.

Discussion happens in both the thread, and there, but the cytube is just an easy way to give hunters a way to pass the time. Hunting shinies can be pretty tedious if you're alone and with nothing to watch, so we figured it'd be a good idea.

First shiny hunt ever to take less than 5 boxes, got this gal on my 3rd.
It's literally perfect in every way, it has everything I wanted. My favourite mon, favourite shiny, gender/ability I wanted. It has the egg moves in a fast ball (the most fitting ball imo). The 6 perfect IVs was just the cherry on top. I guess it truly is Christmas.

Anyone else miss the Pokeradar from gen 4? I don't like SOS chaining, it's very dull and doesn't feel as rewarding as the Pokeradar. I actually really enjoyed playing the stupid little game of doing the furthest away patch.

I don't think I've had it go over 256 honestly, seems effective enough to not get that far
yeah that happens, from my testing I think it's based on the original encounter rate
5% encounter mons seems to fail a lot whilst common shit like zubat work 100% of the time nearly

I finished 3 hunts this week after getting the shiny charm, and they are Mimikyu, Regenerator Mareanie, and Bagon but I'm really fucking pissed about that one.

Mimikyu took _20 eggs, which surprised me at how quickly it came right after I got the shiny charm. Mareanie took about 40+ boxes, I stopped counting at one point. And Bagon I did my first swap breeding attempt for, and that took 37 eggs.

Ya I just started my hunt for shiny Quilava yesterday and I catch it first, check, then reset. You can't save anywhere in Colosseum, and it takes like 4-5 mins per reset which is really annoying so I may just drop the hunt in a few days.

Just got my first shiny in this game. Was breeding for a 5IV gible for the battle tree and nabbed a shiny Jolly HA gible in a beast ball. Pretty neat even though its shiny isn't too different. It has imperfect HP and Sp. Def and I don't feel like grinding it up to bottle cap it right now, but neat nonetheless.

Yeah, shiny charm being so easily obtainable and eggs being the easiest and fastest to get and hatch in a long time make it super efficient and easy to get shiny.

In XY I decided I wanted a shiny Beldum so I started to hatch for one. 5 thousand eggs later I still didn't get one and when Game Freak decided to give one out for free I stopped playing Pokemon until SM came out.

I decided 3 hours ago to try my luck in getting a shiny Beldum again. And I just hatched a shiny not even 4 boxes in.

The shinies don't need to be perfect, but must be legit. Caught by you so you can rename them. I can rename the Bagon of course.

It's hardy, Rock Head, "best" in HP, Sp.Atk, SP.Def, and speed. "Pretty good" in Def, but only "decent" in Atk.
