But it's also a shitmon(Contrary, but is a Physical mon.)

And it's lacking the Bug-type that makes it make sense.

(But that avoids 2 4x weaknesses.)

So overall, 90% love, 10% hate.

It actually is "praying" though, as in the way their front limbs are almost "joined" as if in prayer. "Preying" would be obvious considering they're carnivores.

It's using mimicry. Lurantis is 100% flower, so no, the bug-type wouldn't make sense. The only Bug-type Pokémon that are not insects or arachnids are Shuckle, which is a combination of endoliths, scale insects, and mollusks; and Shedinja, which is the shed husk of another insect.

That doesn't prove anything really. What if it's body build is anthropomorphic because it's meant to convey a nanny/childminder? Why would they design a MANTIS of all insects to be a "child caring" figure? A leaf insect/Phylliidae would make more sense as they're herbivorous.
